The Art of the Guide

A True Artist: Kevin Scullin

Guiding a group while explaining their surroundings, whether DC, Boston, NYC etc. is more than simply reviewing history, architecture and current demography. It takes someone not only with incredible knowledge, oratory and teaching skills while keeping the group engaged, it takes a person who first knows themselves and their historical place that is personal to that location. This is the making of a guiding artist!

Kevin Scullin is this artist. Living for decades in Manhattan, Kevin gives the unique perspective of New York City’s 5 borough history while utilizing his entertainment tools (seen on SNL and many movies), giving his unique perspective from Harlem’s 2nd renaissance to breathing his personal life’s agonizing record during the 9/11 experience. Kevin’s unique artistry can be summed up with a quote from a recent group leader: “Kevin’s amazing ability to deliver NYC’s history through his own perspective, truly had my group in awe! He not only presented the facts; he uniquely presented the everyday human contribution of America’s History!”
